This is an outdoor, hands-on service opportunity. Please wear clothing you do not mind getting dirty and dress appropriately for the weather—long pants and closed-toe shoes are recommended. All necessary equipment will be provided.

Partnership Middle School - Tuesday, August 19

During this service opportunity, you will help create spaces where students can play, learn, and grow. Project will include assembling new playground equipment (a swing set and basketball goal). 

This is an outdoor, hands-on project. Please wear clothing you don’t mind getting dirty, and remember that while cool clothing is fine, shorts should be an appropriate length. All tools and equipment will be provided—just bring your energy and willingness to serve!

Partnership Middle School - Tuesday, August 19

During this service opportunity, you will help create spaces where students can play, learn, and grow. Project will include sprucing up large flowerbeds used by the GROW classroom by pulling weeds and preparing them for planting.

 

This is an outdoor, hands-on project. Please wear clothing you don’t mind getting dirty, and remember that while cool clothing is fine, shorts should be an appropriate length. All tools and equipment will be provided—just bring your energy and willingness to serve!

Starkville Strong - Tuesday, August 19

During this opportunity, volunteers will assist with meal assembly and packaging, ensuring that rescued food is transformed into ready-to-distribute meals. Your time and effort will directly help fight hunger, reduce food waste, and support families in our community.

Serve alongside Starkville Strong, a local nonprofit dedicated to addressing food insecurity, homelessness, housing instability, and community advocacy in Oktibbeha County. Through their Second Servings initiative, surplus food from restaurants, MSU dining, Greek organizations, and community events is collected and repurposed into nutritious meals for neighbors in need.

All supplies will be provided. Just bring your willingness to serve and help make a tangible difference!

Casserole Kitchen - Tuesday, August 19

Casserole Kitchen is a partnership of local churches working together to serve three hot meals each week to neighbors in need. On this day, volunteers will support the dinner service at the Episcopal Church parish hall.

Students will assist with tasks such as setting up, serving meals, and cleaning up after dinner. No cooking is required—just bring a friendly smile and willingness to serve!

Up to 6 volunteers can participate in this opportunity. Your time will help ensure that community members receive not only a warm meal but also a welcoming space of hospitality and care.
